Alliance Scholarship Deadline Is April 26, 2008

Eligibility
Alliance members, their children or grandchildren are eligible. Applicant must be a high school senior anticipating to be a full-time college student or a current full-time college student during the 2008/2009 school year. To ensure fairness in the judging, Alliance employees, officials and their immediate family members are not eligible, nor are past Alliance Scholarship recipients.

Scholarships to be Awarded
In total, $7,500 in scholarships will be awarded based upon the following categories: 

Select Employee Group Chairman’s Award—$1,500

Select Employee Group President’s Award—$1,000

(Employees/Retirees of companies Alliance serves.) 

St. Louis County Chairman’s Award—$1,500

St. Louis County President’s Award—$1,000

(Members who live or work in St. Louis County.)

St. Charles County Chairman’s Award—$1,500

St. Charles County President’s Award—$1,000

(Members who live or work in St. Charles County.)

Selection and Presentation

Judging will be completed by a panel consisting of employees and volunteers and will be based solely on a review of the application information. There is no financial need, grade point average or college test score to qualify. Winners will be announced at the Annual Membership Meeting in May. 

How to Apply

1.  Complete the Application

2.  Write an essay summarizing your personal goals while attending college and how the scholarship will help you achieve these goals. The essay should be typed, double spaced and no longer than 2 pages.

3.  Obtain 2 letters of recommendation, at least one from a teacher or work supervisor, stating why you are deserving of the scholarship and describing your personal, school or work characteristics.  Recommendation letters should include the author's signature, name, address, relationship to applicant and phone number(s). Letters must be legible but do not have to be typed.

4.  Submit all required information to: Marketing Department, Alliance Credit Union, 575 Rudder Road, Fenton, MO 63026

5.  Applications must be received by 4/26/08.
